At about 17-00 hours I was getting a large hole ready for firing whilst doing so I caught the knuckle of my right hand on a piece of stone. I did not think the accident was in any serious so did not report same 11/01/15 absent from 8.30 am 11/1/15 until 6.30am 12/1/15 awarded 3 days confined to baracks and deprivation 2 days pay; absent from tattoo roll call until 6 pm on 7/4/15 awarded 3 days confined to barracks; absent from 12 m.n. 25/4/15 till 2 am 27/4/15 admonished; absent from tattoo roll call 5.4.15 until 6 pm 7.4.15 awarded 3 days confined to barracks On the Roll of Honour Herbert is listed as a Private although the records show him as Lance Corporal/acting Corporal. 1901 Census: Crich
