Sherwood Foresters Roll –
Joined 17th Bn 06/10/15; to France 02/03/16; wounded in left hand and back in trenches two weeks later; October 1916 again wounded by shrapnel through the neck narrowly missing jugular vein. To England for hospital treatment; discharged unfit for further service; Died of natural causes 27/05/1975; husband of Rose Porter (née Allen); lived in Nottingham.
