Source: Simon Johnson (relative) During the war Norman initally served as a Stoker 2nd Class with the Royal Navy. His period of engagement dates from the 14th June 1916, and his service number was K.34010. He was promoted to Stoker 1st Class on the 14th June 1917. He received an honourable discharge on the 19th December 1918 on account of 'organic heart disease'. Also on the Roll of Honour, is an older brother George Henry Henson, a nephew Arthur Walker Harrison, and a cousin George Cowlishaw.
