From Leigh Griffiths Naval Record – Very good character; K.C. (No. 3307) issued 19/02/19 Note: Victory I = Portsmouth, Victory II = Crystal Palace; HMS Victory was and remains the flagship of the Commander in Chief, Portsmouth and as such had and has a ceremonial detachment of officers and ratings, as well as a ‘crew’ for the day to day duties of such an important command. 1901 Census: Normanton
1911 Census: Burton
RG14PN16824 RG78PN1042 RD365 SD4 ED37 SN16 Leigh Griffiths married Edith M Shaw Q1 in 1919, Bakewell reg. area. Believe her to be Cromford-born Edith Shaw(aged 17 in 1911 census), daughter of widow Alice Shaw. An assumption that they lived in Crich area after marriage hence his name on Crich Roll of Honour. |
