Enlisted 13/06/1889 Derby; address Crich; aged 18; occupation waggon builder; Joined Royal Marines for 2 days but rejected owing to defective teeth; height 5ft 6½in,weight 120lb, grey eyes, light brown hair, C of E, tattoo on back of left forearm; next of kin Uncle Stephen Bollington of 101 Park Street, Derby; transferred to Sherwood Foresters, Army Reserve 12/06/1896; passed Infantry Cert 16 December 1891
